17MW Solar Plant Begins Operation in Coastal Area of Yamaguchi

Taiyo Oil Co Ltd announced Nov 1, 2017, that a solar power plant with an output of about 17.3MW has started commercial operation in a coastal area of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.

The plant was built on idled land adjacent to the company's Yamaguchi Office, which is a manufacturing base for styrene monomer (raw material for plastic, paint, etc).

The power producer of the plant is SDT Solar Power, an SPC (special purpose company) invested in by Taiyo Oil, Solar Frontier KK and Development Bank of Japan Inc.

The solar panel and PV inverter employed for the plant are products of Solar Frontier and Delta Electronics Inc, respectively.
