Tottori Gas Starts Up 2.3MW Solar Plant in Tottori

Tottori Gas Co Ltd announced Oct 11, 2016, that it has started operation of a solar power plant with an output of about 2.3MW.

The company installed 7,460 solar panels manufactured by Suntech Power in Nishiimazaike, Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture, Japan. The plant is expected to generate about 2,560,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 710 households, per year.

The construction of the plant started in September 2015 and was completed Oct 1, 2016. All the electricity generated at the plant is sold to Tottori Shimin Denryoku (Tottori City) to realize local production and local consumption of energy.
