Omron Corp announced Oct 13, 2016, that it will release the "KPM2" PV inverter suited for "overloading," which means that the total capacity of solar panels exceeds the total rated output of PV inverters, in December 2016.

The KPM2 is a single-phase PV inverter for outdoor use. It is designed for residential and small-scale solar power generation facilities.

It enables to generate more electricity even in the mornings and evenings, when the amount of sunlight is small, and sell more electricity. As a result, it becomes possible to ensure business feasibility even with a low purchasing price (FIT tariff), the company said.
