The government of Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture, announced Sept 27, 2016, that it has unofficially decided to entrust the construction and commercial operation of a 2.6MW floating solar power plant to Ichigo Eco Energy Co Ltd.

The plant will be built on the surface of an agricultural reservoir owned by the city. Ichigo Eco Energy plans to install 64 units of Huawei Technologies Co Ltd's 33.3kW PV inverter and France-based Ciel&Terre International's floating mounting system.

It will be Ichigo Eco Energy's second mega (large-scale) solar power plant operating in Kasaoka City, following a 1.12MW plant that the company completed in March 2016.
