Osaka Gas to Set Up Biomass Power Plant in Chiba

Osaka Gas Co Ltd and Gas and Power Co Ltd (G&P, Osaka City) announced July 31, 2018, that they will build a woody biomass power plant with a rated output of 75MW in Sodegaura, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

G&P is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Osaka Gas. The project is the Osaka Gas group's fifth biomass power generation project.

The power plant that combusts only biomass will be built on the premises of Asahi Kasei Corp's Chiba Factory, and a silo for storing fuel will be built on the premises of Nippon Phosphoric Acid Co Ltd's office in a neighboring area. As fuel, wood pellets produced in North America will be mainly used.
