DIC Corp announced July 31, 2017, that it will set up a 1.6MW solar power plant on the premises of its Kashima Factory in Kamisu City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

Due to the construction of the solar power plant, the amount of CO2 emissions of the plant, where organic pigments, etc are manufactured, is expected to be about 3% smaller than in 2016. The plant is scheduled to be completed in January 2018.

Electricity generated at the plant will be used in the factory. The plant is expected to generate 1,700MWh of electricity, which eliminates 1,200t of CO2 emissions, per year.
