Smart Solar Corp announced Aug 19, 2016, that it will build a 17MW solar power plant and install a 9MWh stationary storage battery in Shinhidaka-cho, Hokkaido, Japan.

The plant will be built on a former golf course by installing 21MW of Trina Solar Ltd's solar panels. It is scheduled to be completed in November 2017 and transmit 17MW of electricity to a power grid.

The storage battery is a product of Samsung SDI Co Ltd. It will be installed in the aim of smoothing the short-period output fluctuation of the solar power plant and reducing the load on the power grid.
