Orix Corp will build two mega (large-scale) solar power plants to be connected to an extra-high-voltage power transmission line in Aizubange-machi, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
Orix started to drive in piles and install mounting systems in June 2018, planning to start operation of the plant in December 2018.
By reclaiming about 53,000m2 of mountain forest, Orix will build two power plants. The total number of solar panels will be 16,874, and the total output of the panels will be 4.7MW. The plant is expected to generate about 5,000,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 1,500 households, per year. The FIT tariff set for the plant is ¥36/kWh.
