SymEnergy Inc had a ground-breaking ceremony for a small-scale woody biomass power plant in Uchiko-cho, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, May 10, 2018.
If the construction goes smoothly, the plant will start power generation in November 2018. It is the first commercial biomass power plant whose power generation capacity is less than 2MW in the Shikoku region of Japan, according to SymEnergy.
For the plant, six units of compact high-efficiency woody biomass cogeneration equipment of Germany-based Burkhardt and one unit of binary power generation equipment of the US-based Access Energy were employed. The rated output of the entire system is 1,115kW.
