Okinawa Uruma New Energy Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Erex Co Ltd, will build a biomass power plant with a rated output of 49MW in Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

The construction will start in the latter half of 2018, and the plant is scheduled to be completed and start operation within 2020.

The plant is expected to generate about 330,000MWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the power consumption of 100,000 households, per year by using 200,000t of imported palm shells and wood pellets as fuel.
