TMEIC Opens Representative Office in Vietnam
In aim of further tapping Vietnamese market
Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC) announced April 16, 2019, that it has opened a representative office in Hanoi, Vietnam.
TMEIC opened the office in the aim of strengthening the sales of its power electronics products such as large-size PV inverters for solar power plants as well as industrial electric systems including large-size motors.
In Vietnam, industrial and social infrastructures are being developed in the background of stable economic growth. The country is promoting the use of renewable energy by, for example, announcing a plan to introduce 12GW of solar power generation (PV) systems by 2030.
There are many mega (large-scale) solar projects underway in Vietnam. And there is an increasing number of projects that Japanese firms such as Sharp Corp and JGC Corp are involved in. Also, China-based solar panel manufacturers are making achievements in the supply of panels to Vietnam, and Next Energy & Resources Co Ltd (Komagane City, Nagano Prefecture) announced a new solar panel product suited for the Vietnamese market at the end of 2018.
TMEIC has also made achievements by, for example, receiving orders for PV inverters and grid connection facilities for multiple projects in Vietnam. The new office was established under TMEIC Asia Pte Ltd based in Singapore. It is TMEIC's fourth base in Southeast Asia, following bases in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand (TMEIC Receives Order for PV Inverters, Etc From 49MW Solar Plant in Vietnam).
"By opening the representative office in Hanoi, we can grasp customer needs and further strengthen our support system," TMEIC Asia President Hiroki Nagasaka said.
