A small hydraulic power plant was built at an agricultural dam in Kudamatsu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, and started operation Feb 1, 2019.

Part of the facilities of the dam is rented to a private company. The company built and operates the power plant and donates part of the revenue from selling electricity.

The effective head of the dam is 26.6m, and the maximum amount of water is 0.300m3/s. The maximum output of the small hydraulic power plant is 49.5kW, and the plant is expected to generate 370,863kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 100 households, per year.
