Japan Benex Starts Up 2MW Rooftop Solar Plant in Saitama

Japan Benex Corp (Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture) started operation of a mega (large-scale) solar power plant built by renting a roof in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, Jan 25, 2019.

Japan Benex installed about 2.04MW of solar panels by renting the roof of the "Logiport Kawagoe" physical distribution facility. The plant, "Benex Kawagoe Solar Port," is expected to generate about 2,200,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 610 households, per year. The FIT tariff set for the plant is ¥21/kWh.

The solar panel and PV inverter employed for the plant are products of JA Solar Holdings Co Ltd and Meidensha Corp, respectively.
