Okamoto Industries to Set Up 2MW Solar Plant in Gunma

Okamoto Industries Inc, a Japan-based manufacturer of chemical products for domestic and industrial use, announced May 9, 2014, that it will build a 1.99MW solar power plant on a site owned by the company in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
The name of the mega (large-scale) solar power plant is "Okamoto Ota Solar Park 2." Okamoto has already constructed 1.99MW "Okamoto Ota Solar Park" on the same site in the first phase of the project and started selling electricity in October 2013. And the new plant will be built for the second phase.
The site area of Okamoto Ota Solar Park 2 is about 27,000m2. Okamoto plans to start power generation at the plant in December 2014. The solar panel and PV inverter employed for the plant are products of LSIS Co Ltd and Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC), respectively.
