Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC) announced that it will newly establish the "Industrial Third System Division" to expand its business in the field of environment/energy April 1, 2014.

With the new division, the number of TMEIC's divisions will increase from four to five. The company has the largest share of the market for PV inverters for large-scale solar power generation systems in Japan.

By establishing the new division, TMEIC plans to further strengthen its business in the field of renewable energies, which is expected to continue to grow, and promote its manufacturing solution business that provides low-environmental-load solutions in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, etc.

In regard to those fields, TMEIC intends to form a "business operation system that allows to quickly respond to environment changes" by developing products separately from the company's existing businesses and allocating management resources to the new fields to follow rapid market environment changes.

The Industrial Third System Division deals with the following businesses: (1) renewable energy/energy optimization business, (2) business related to TMEIC's own advanced technologies that reduce environmental loads and (3) total engineering for manufacturing plants, etc.

The first business is related to PV inverters for large-scale solar power generation systems, wind power generation systems and storage battery systems. The second business deals with ozone gas generators, electrode bonding machines, film forming equipment and other products related to semiconductors and liquid crystals. The total engineering includes manufacturing line engineering, automobile testing systems and facility solutions.
