Vitec Co Ltd announced that it has tied up with ReneSola Ltd, a China-based solar panel manufacturer, and will start to produce solar panels in Japan in April 2014.

Vitec established Vitec Global Solar (VGS) Co Ltd (Ohtawara City, Tochigi Prefecture) Feb 2, 2014, to manufacture and sell solar panels.

Vitec sells semiconductors, electronic components, etc, offers consulting services in the fields of environment and energy and runs mega-solar (large-scale solar) power plants. It built three mega-solar plants in Nakanojo-machi, Gunma Prefecture. Furthermore, Vitec will produce solar panels through VGS. It will introduce parts and manufacturing methods of ReneSola and provide panels for industrial and residential use through a technology alliance with Sun-S (a firm based in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture).
