CCP Co Ltd, a Tokyo-based subsidiary of Bandai Co Ltd, will release what it claims is the world's smallest IRC (infrared remote control) helicopter toy June 8, 2013.
With the toy, "Nano-Falcon," CCP obtained a Guinness world record for the world's smallest IRC helicopter toy March 13, 2013. Its price is ¥4,704 (approx US$46.3, including tax).
The length of the Nano-Falcon is 65mm, and its mass is 11g. The world's smallest size was realized by using parts of compact precision devices developed for mobile phones, smartphones, etc, reducing weight and employing a design that enables to save space. Equipped with a high-performance gyro sensor and a contra-rotating mechanism, the helicopter can fly stably, CCP said.
CCP expects that the Nano-Falcon will be sold mainly in toy sections, predicting sales of 100,000 units in the first year.
