Panasonic Corp announced the "HX-A100," a compact wearable camcorder expected to be attached to a human body, at the 2013 International CES, which runs from Jan 8 to 11, 2013, in Las Vegas, the US.

The company has not yet decided the release date or price of the camcorder. The HX-A100 consists of two units: a shooting unit incorporating a lens, image sensor, etc and a main unit having operation buttons, rechargeable battery and so forth.

"By using a small, light-weight shooting unit, it becomes easy to attach the unit to a head and other body parts," Panasonic said.

The shooting unit and the main unit are connected with a wire.

The camcorder has wireless LAN capability and supports live streaming services such as Ustream. It is capable of 1,080/60p video shooting and complies with the IPX8 (waterproof) standard. It can shoot video for 140 minutes per charge.
