Kyocera Corp will release a polycrystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) module that it claims has a maximum output power of 200W for use in residential houses in Japan.
The module has the highest maximum output of Kyocera's PV modules for residences. It uses 48 high-efficiency PV cells including the company's "Gyna" cell, which has a cell conversion efficiency of 17.8%. Its conversion efficiency as a module is about 15%.
Kyocera Solar Corp will release the module Nov 22, 2012, as the latest product in the "Econoroots" series of PV power generation systems for residential use. The expected retail prices of the "Econoroots type R" (product code: KJ200P-3CRCE), which measures 1,338 (W) x 1,012 (L) x 36mm (H), and the "Econoroots type G" (product code: KJ200P-3CJ2CE), which measures 1,341 (W) x 990 (L) x 36mm (H), are both ¥100,000 (approx US$1,222). And the price of the "Econoroots type U" (product code: KJ200P-3CUCE), whose dimensions are 1,338 (W) x 990 (L) x 46mm (H), is expected to be ¥96,000.
