Nissho Electronics Corp, NGC Corp and Samsung Japan Corp announced a digital signage system that can freely combine LCD displays with different sizes and in different orientations and show one image.
NGC is an affiliate company of Nissho Electronics. They launched the system, which is called "Matrix," July 1, 2010, in Japan.
Samsung Japan developed LCD displays equipped with PC functions and "MagicInfo VideoWall," software for creating contents for the system. NGC offers services such as creating and proposing contents and sells the system.
The companies released the new display in 18 sizes (from 32 to 82 inches). Because the displays are equipped with PC functions, they can be connected to one another just by using LAN cables and power cables. Up to 250 units of the display can be combined.
When the system consists of nine 32-inch displays, its price is about ¥2 million (approx US$22,776, excluding fees for PCs used to create and deliver contents and for creating and proposing contents).
