NTT Facilities Completes 18MW Solar Plant in Iwate

NTT Facilities Inc announced that it has built a 17.7584MW solar power plant in Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, and had a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the plant Oct 5, 2017.

It is the company's 76th site for solar power generation business. For the plant, Wuxi Suntech Power Co Ltd and Hitachi Ltd provided solar panels and PV inverters, respectively. The plant is expected to generate about 17,210MWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 4,800 households, per year.

Electricity generated at the plant is sold to Tohoku-Electric Power Co Inc at a price of ¥36/kWh.
