Japan Renewable Energy Corp (JRE) announced that it has started operation of a solar power plant with an output of about 3MW in Shichinohe-machi, Kamikita-gun, Aomori Prefecture, Japan, and had a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the plant Sept 13, 2017.
On a former pasture land, 10,472 solar panels were set up. The plant transmits 1.99MW of electricity to a power grid.
The plant is expected to generate about 3,380,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 939 households, per year. Electricity generated at the plant is sold to Tohoku-Electric Power Co Inc.
