Sparx Begins Operation of 6MW Biomass Power Plant in Niigata

Sparx Group Co Ltd announced that Sparx Green Energy & Technology Co Ltd (SGET) has started operation of a woody biomass power plant in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, Sept 1, 2017.

Power generation facilities with a rated output of 6.3MW were built on about 1.2ha of land. The power producer of the plant is SGET Green Power Generation Sanjo LLC (Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture). Electricity generated at the plant is sold to F-Power Inc (Minato-ku, Tokyo).

Takuma Co Ltd provided engineering and construction services for the power generating turbine, and its circulation fluidized bed boiler was employed for the plant. Green Thermal Co Ltd is responsible for the procurement of fuel, production of wood chips and the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the power generation facilities.
