Aomori Prefecture Federation of Landworkers Union built a solar power plant with an output of about 2.6MW in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan, and started power generation in December 2017.

Part of the revenue from selling electricity is used for promoting solar sharing in the aim of increasing the income of farmers.

On about 46,000m2 of land, 8,640 solar panels were installed by temporarily converting the land category of farmland. The total output of PV inverters is 1.995MW. The plant is expected to generate more than 3,000,000kWh of electricity per year.
