JAG Energy Co Ltd announced that it will build a 16.6MW solar power plant on the site of a former golf course in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.

The plant is scheduled to be completed in March 2019. Solar panels will be set up on about 35ha of land. The plant is expected to generate 18,793,500kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 5,220 households, per year. All the electricity generated at the plant will be sold to TEPCO Energy Partner Inc.

Solar Frontier KK and Taiwan-based Delta Electronics will supply solar panels and PV inverters, respectively, for the plant.
