Eurus Energy Holdings Corp (Minato-ku, Tokyo) will build Australia's first "hybrid power plant" consisting of wind and solar power generation facilities and a storage battery system.

The power plant, "Kennedy Energy Park," will be constructed in Queensland in cooperation with Windlab Development, which develops wind power plants in Australia. Eurus Energy had a ground-breaking ceremony Dec 11, 2017. The plant is scheduled to start operations in October 2018.

Compared with wind and solar power plants, the output fluctuation (caused by weather conditions) of hybrid power plants is small.

The output of the hybrid power plant is 58.2MW (wind: 43.2MW, solar: 15MW). And a storage battery system with an output of 2MW and a capacity of 4MWh will be installed.
