Sanko Real Estate Starts Up 13MW Solar Plant in Mie
Solar Frontier's solar panel, TMEIC's PV inverter
Sanko Real Estate Co Ltd (Tsu City), an operational company of Mie Kotsu Group Holdings Inc, started commercial operation of two solar power plants with a total output of about 14MW in Mie Prefecture, Japan.
In Tategami, Ago-cho, Shima City, Mie Prefecture, "Shima City Ago Tategami Mega Solar Power Plant" started operations. The total capacity of solar panels installed at the plant is about 12.8MW while the total rated output of PV inverters is 10.5MW. It started full commercial operation Dec 25, 2017.
In Shima City, solar power plants connected to an extra-high-voltage power transmission line started operation one after another. For example, Sanko Real Estate also started operation of a solar power plant with an output of about 14MW (solar panel capacity) in February 2017 (See related article).
The 12.8MW plant was built on about 14ha of land that was formerly mountain forest. Sanko Real Estate owns some of the land but rented the rest.
The FIT tariff set for the plant is ¥36/kWh (excluding tax). Electricity generated at the plant is sold to Chubu Electric Power Co Inc. The plant is expected to generate about 15,738,000kWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the amount consumed by 4,370 households, per year.
Chiyoda Corp provided EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services for the plant. The solar panel and PV inverter employed for the plant are products of Solar Frontier KK and Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC), respectively. Sanko Real Estate has been continually using EPC services, solar panels and PV inverters of the three companies for mega (large-scale) solar power plants that it develops and runs.
